Well, cold sores, also known as fever blisters or oral herpes, are created by the herpes simplex virus. There are two types of HSV. HSV1 - a very common virus that causes cold sores and HSV2 such that causes the famous incurable genital herpes. Studies show that in fact, the HSV1 virus resides in us all the time, and the appearance of the cold sore is simply an outbreak of that virus. Probably not, but once the outbreak occurred, there are things we can do to shorten the outbreak and get rid of that pain painful.
The means to deal with cold sores include: over the counter medication that, in many cases, based on Docosanol. This ingrediant has proven to be an effective suppressor of the outbreak HSV1. Other drugs containing compounds of zinc, lysine, phenol, and tannic acid which is said to have an inhibitory effect on the ability of particles of herpes virus lesions form of cold sore. If you prefer herbal remedy, herbal antiseptics Sage and Tea Tree Oil Purple sedative herbs are referred to as effective treatments for cold sores. And 'course, there's always the good old home remedies for cold sores, such as the application of a tea bag to the sore.
